Long Trough Planters and Long Planter Boxes
Long trough planters are the most efficient way to plant a continuous run, whether it's a balcony edge, a boundary, a walkway or a building frontage. At 1500 to 2000mm, each trough covers the length of two standard planters, making the design really stand out and giving roots an uninterrupted bed to spread through.
Our long planter boxes come in two finishes, painted charcoal and gel coat concrete, in four sizes: a slim 1800 for narrow spaces, a deeper XL 1800 for larger specimens, a full 2m 2000, and a matching 1500 that shares the 2000's profile to complete a run. Every trough is internally sealed with waterproof polyurethane resin, stands on built-in feet and has reinforced pre-drilled drainage holes. Each is backed by a 3-year warranty, and large quantities are held in stock at our Brisbane warehouse.

Long and Narrow: Planter Boxes for Balconies, Walkways and Boundaries
At just 350mm wide, the 1800 trough brings a full-length planting bed to spaces where depth is limited: balcony edges, walkways, the base of boundary fences and the frontage of a building. Its 400mm height suits hedging, grasses and trailing plants, and keeps the planting low enough to preserve sightlines. Where a stronger screen is needed, the XL 1800 and 2000 provide the soil volume for taller species such as lilly pilly, murraya and clumping bamboo.
2m Long Planter Boxes for Screening and Streetscapes
A run of 2000mm troughs is the fastest way to establish a continuous green edge on a commercial project. Five troughs plant a 10m frontage, with only four joins to align. The 400mm width and 500mm height give enough root volume for dense screening shrubs, while the fibreglass construction keeps each unit light enough for two people to position before planting. Specified for hospitality frontages, car park edges, rooftop terraces and apartment podiums.
Long Trough Planter FAQs
What is the longest planter box you stock? Our 2000mm trough is our longest standard planter box, a full 2m in Manhattan Charcoal and Milano Concrete.
How many long troughs do I need for my run? Combine the 2000 and 1500, which share the same 400 × 500mm profile, to match your run. A 3.5m run takes one of each; a 10m run takes five 2000s; an 11.5m run takes five 2000s and one 1500. Allow a small gap between units if the run needs to follow a curve or change of level.
How much does a long trough weigh when filled?

Can I move a long trough once it's planted? Position long troughs before filling. Once planted, a 2m trough is too heavy to move safely by hand.
How are long troughs delivered? Palletised from our Brisbane warehouse, with delivery Australia-wide. Check site access for 2m items before booking delivery. Free pickup is available from our Sydney and Melbourne warehouses; allow 3–5 business days for stock transfer.
