Sigma Planters provided an array of lightweight concrete planters from their Florence collection to The Mirage Alexandra Headland, a luxury 4.5-star resort nestled 50 meters from the main road. The property offers breathtaking views free from traffic noise, with all east-facing balconies overlooking the resort’s pool, lush gardens, serene lagoon, adjacent parkland, and the ocean beyond.
Constructed 25 years ago, The Mirage had long struggled with rainwater leakage in Carparks 1 and 2, largely stemming from podium-level planting areas. To proactively address this issue, management opted to waterproof all planting zones simultaneously. This preventative approach not only resolved existing problems but also created a reliable foundation for future waterproofing work on surrounding paved surfaces, scheduled for late 2025.
The renovation began in mid-July 2024 with the removal of soil and vegetation from eight built-in planting beds. After completing the waterproofing process, the team chose to replant using Sigma’s lightweight planters within these spaces. This strategic decision ensures easier, more cost-effective maintenance of the waterproof membranes over time, while preserving the aesthetic integrity of the resort’s landscaped areas.
